Get Involved

We are run by volunteers and we are always looking for members to help.  This is a great way to meet fellow members and make new friends with similar interests.  

Executive Committee

President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer

Provide leadership and take responsibility for club activities. 

Travel Committee

This committee is the overseer of trips planned by our members to  destinations around the world and throughout the United States. SOTG members initiate their own trips within established guidelines. 

Cultural/Social Committee

This committee plans various events for our members such as theater shows, concerts, festivals and opera.

Dining Out Committee

This committee arranges for our members to dine at local restaurants in Bradenton, Sarasota, and Venice.

Dining In Committee

This committee arranges monthly dinners in member's homes.  This is a great way to meet your fellow members in an intimate setting so as to form new friendships.

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club meets on the second Saturday of each month at various locations, from “south” in the Venice vicinity to “center” Sarasota, and finally to the “north” around University Parkway. This is another way to meet other members for conversation and friendship.

Membership and Database

The members of this committee are usually the first contact that a first time visitor at our General Meetings meets. Friendly faces and smiles!  The Database Manager does exactly what the title says - manages our Membership Database. This is a great job for someone who is detail oriented.

Greeters

Our wonderful greeters are the first contact that our members and guests have at our General Meetings. They make everyone feel welcome!
